Mike & Wendy
Wendy and I met in college. Soon after, we moved to Hawaii with only the clothes on our back because I was crazy about surfing and Wendy was crazy enough to trust me. I always had a dream to own my own restaurant and with a few thousand bucks and a credit card, we rented a small space and opened a tiny shop called Kono's. We grew this business for 14 years, improving constantly as it evolved into the busiest breakfast spot on the North Shore of Oahu.
It was successful beyond our wildest dreams, but it was time for a change. In 2016 we sold the restaurant and moved to Utah, not exactly sure what our next career move would be.
It was a case of right place, right time, and with a little luck, we found ourselves the owners of Granny's Drive In, a local legend.
Wendy and I have a passion for restoring old stuff and a passion for restaurants, so we're combining the two to bring Granny's back to its vintage splendor. We are a true family business, our kids and grandma even work here.
We believe in small business and creating value in our community. We're going to do our best to make our little part of Main Street shine. We hope you'll join us for a burger and a shake!
